Rohtak, July 31: The Rohtak kidnapping case took a tragic turn after police recovered the body of 26-year-old Sunil from a canal near Berry Head in Jhajjar district. Sunil, a resident of Kath Mandi in Rohtak, had been missing for four days. His death sparked outrage among family members and local residents, who demanded immediate action against the accused.
Family Alleges Armed Men Kidnapped Sunil
According to the family, Sunil was sitting with his friends under the Kath Mandi bridge at around 1:00 am on July 28. A black Scorpio SUV allegedly stopped near the group. Four to five armed men stepped out of the vehicle. They allegedly assaulted Sunil, forced him into the SUV, and fled the spot. His friends witnessed the incident but could not stop the attackers.
The family searched for Sunil throughout the area. When they found no clue, they filed a complaint at the Shivaji Colony Police Station. Police registered the case and began an investigation.
Police Recover Body from Jhajjar Canal
Four days later, police informed the family that they had recovered a body from a canal near Berry Head in Jhajjar. The family identified the deceased as Sunil. Doctors conducted a post-mortem examination before authorities handed over the body to the family.
The development shocked the victim’s relatives and residents of the area. Many demanded strict action against those responsible.
Family Stages Road Protest
Following the post-mortem, the family placed Sunil’s body on Jhajjar Road near the Kath Mandi Bridge. They blocked the road and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. The protest disrupted traffic for nearly an hour. Police officers reached the spot, spoke with the protesters, and assured them that the investigation would continue at full pace.
Investigation Continues
Police continue to investigate the Rohtak kidnapping case. Investigators are recording witness statements, collecting evidence, and examining all available leads. Officials say they are working to identify and arrest everyone involved in the alleged abduction and murder.
