Russia Launches Fresh Missile and Drone Attacks Across Ukraine, Killing at Least 11

Russia carried out a large-scale missile and drone attack across Ukraine overnight, killing at least 11 people and injuring more than 100 others. The strikes hit several major cities, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava. The attacks damaged residential buildings and critical infrastructure.

Ukrainian officials said Russia launched 73 missiles and 656 drones during the assault. Ukraine’s air force intercepted many of the incoming weapons. Air defense units shot down 40 missiles and more than 600 drones. However, several missiles and drones reached their targets, causing deaths, injuries, and widespread damage.

Kyiv suffered some of the heaviest impacts. Four people lost their lives in the capital, while dozens of others sustained injuries. Emergency teams rushed to multiple sites after explosions triggered fires and damaged buildings. Many residents sought shelter in metro stations during the air raid alerts.

Authorities in Dnipro also reported deaths and injuries. A rescue worker died while responding to an earlier attack. Local officials said the strikes damaged homes, public buildings, and other infrastructure across the city.

The attacks came as Ukraine continued to face repeated Russian aerial assaults. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged international partners to provide additional military assistance. He called for stronger air defense systems to help protect civilians and critical facilities from future attacks.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the strikes and accused Moscow of targeting civilian areas. Russian officials maintained that their forces targeted military and defense-related facilities.

The latest attack highlights the ongoing intensity of the conflict. The war has now entered its fifth year, with both sides continuing military operations across several fronts. Diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire have shown little progress in recent months.

Governments around the world continue to monitor the situation closely. Humanitarian organizations have also expressed concern about the growing impact of the conflict on civilians. As fighting continues, many fear further escalation and additional suffering across the region.
