Gangster Sachin's wife Mamta Rani

In a significant breakthrough against organised crime, the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Mamta Rani, the wife of gangster Sachin, after bringing her back from Russia. The operation was carried out by the Ambala STF, which had been tracking her movements for several months through intelligence inputs and technical surveillance.

Mamta Rani, a resident of Dhanora village in Karnal district, is accused of playing an active role in supporting the criminal activities of her husband’s gang. According to police officials, Sachin is allegedly associated with the notorious Monu Gujjar and Noni Rana gangs, which have been involved in several serious crimes in Haryana. Investigators claim that Mamta provided both financial assistance and logistical support to gang members, helping them continue their operations.

She was wanted in connection with a case registered by the STF at Chhappar Police Station in Yamunanagar district on March 15, 2026, under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. During the investigation, police had already arrested several gang members and recovered a large cache of illegal weapons. The probe also revealed an alleged conspiracy to murder a businessman involved in the car sale and purchase business in Yamunanagar.

According to DSP Aman Kumar of Ambala STF, Mamta fled to Russia after the registration of the FIR to evade arrest. However, the STF continued its efforts and ultimately succeeded in securing her return to India. Authorities believe that her interrogation could provide crucial information about the gang’s international links, financial network and other associates operating within the state. The arrest is being viewed as another major success in Haryana Police’s ongoing crackdown on organised crime.
