Modern hospital building representing the upcoming 300-bed upgrade of Sonipat Civil Hospital in Haryana with advanced healthcare facilities

The Sonipat Civil Hospital is set for a major expansion and will soon be upgraded into a 300-bed modern healthcare facility, marking an important step in strengthening public healthcare services in Haryana.

As part of the expansion plan, a new 100-bed Maternal and Child Health (MCH) unit will be added to the existing hospital. This will significantly improve specialised care for pregnant women, newborns, and children. After the completion of the project, the total capacity of the hospital will increase to around 300 beds, making it one of the more advanced district hospitals in the region.

The upgraded hospital will include modern operation theatres, advanced diagnostic facilities, improved intensive care units, and a strengthened emergency department. These improvements are expected to provide faster and better treatment to patients and reduce the burden on major hospitals such as PGIMS Rohtak.

The project is part of the Haryana government’s broader plan to upgrade district-level healthcare infrastructure and increase hospital bed capacity across the state. The focus is on improving access to quality healthcare at the local level so that patients do not have to travel long distances for treatment.

Officials have stated that Sonipat Civil Hospital already handles a large number of outpatient cases every day. With the expansion, the hospital will be better equipped to manage patient flow and reduce waiting times.

Once completed, the upgraded facility is expected to play a key role in improving healthcare services in Sonipat and surrounding areas, offering more efficient and reliable medical support to the public.
