Haryana Government Expanding Healthcare Facilities for Workers
The Haryana Government is rapidly expanding healthcare services for workers and their families. Labour Minister Anil Vij said workers are the backbone of the state and national economy. Therefore, their health security remains a top priority for the government.
He said ESIC hospitals and dispensaries are being developed at 34 locations across Haryana with support from the Central Government. As a result, workers will get access to modern healthcare facilities closer to their homes.
Review Meeting Held on ESIC Projects
Anil Vij chaired a high-level meeting with ESIC officials in Chandigarh. During the meeting, he reviewed the progress of ongoing healthcare projects across the state.
He directed officials to complete all projects within the stipulated timeline. In addition, he asked departments to prepare a list of delayed and pending works for regular monitoring.
Monthly Monitoring to Ensure Timely Completion
The Labour Minister said he would personally review the progress of ESIC projects every month. He also warned that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.
According to officials, more than 98 percent of the civil work for the 100-bed ESIC Hospital in Bahadurgarh has been completed. Similarly, around 90 percent work of the 150-bed ESIC Hospital in Bawal is also complete.
New Hospitals to Come Up in Rohtak and Manesar
Officials informed that a 150-bed ESIC Hospital in Rohtak and a 500-bed modern ESIC Hospital in Manesar are proposed. Work on both projects is expected to begin soon.
Meanwhile, nearly 95 percent construction work of ESIC dispensaries in Barhi and Rai, Sonipat, has been completed. The ESIC dispensary in Panchkula has already become operational.
Several District Projects Reviewed
The meeting also reviewed projects in Ambala, Hisar, Sonipat and Karnal. In addition, progress of dispensaries in IMT Rohtak, Sohna, Nuh, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Jhajjar, Kaithal and several other regions was discussed.
Focus on Better Medical Services
Anil Vij said the government’s goal is not limited to constructing buildings. Instead, the focus is on providing quality healthcare, specialist doctors and modern medical equipment for workers.
He added that the Haryana Government is continuously working for the welfare and social security of labourers. Therefore, the expansion of ESIC facilities is a major step in that direction.
