- Chandigarh, March 1: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today said the State Government is committed towards the uplifting of the economic status of poor families residing in the State and for this the State Government has resolved to increase the family income of around one lakh families having lowest income to at least Rs One lakh annually. While reiterating this resolve Sh. Manohar Lal today directed the officers to expeditiously work for the successful implementation of this scheme.
- While reviewing the progress of his dream project here today, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the identification of these one lakh families having the lowest income will be done by the State Government. He said that dedicated efforts should be made for reaching out to these families living in slums, so as to ensure that they get the scheme benefit.
- The Chief Minister said that efforts should be made to provide employment opportunities to unemployed family members of these one lakh families so that their family income is increased.
- “Our goal is to make them employable. After increasing the income of these one lakh families, the target of next one lakh families will be set and this effort of uplifting the poor families will continue,” said the Chief Minister.
- He said that identification of these one lakh families would be done through Parivar Pehchan Patra. Local committees which are working under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioners will conduct the survey for identifying such families in their respective districts. Very soon this list of one lakh families will be prepared.
- The Chief Minister directed the Vice-Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Dr. Raj Nehru to prepare a list of required courses ensuring employment opportunities to students belonging to unprivileged, less- educated and backward families.
- Efforts will be made to increase income of the families by imparting education through the courses being offered under the skill development scheme to the eligible youth, women and others.
- He further directed the Vice Chancellor to chalk out a plan to offer basic courses in the Industrial Training Institutes.
- The Chief Minister said that constant efforts should be made to reach out to family members of these one lakh families and the concerned officer should themselves approach them to apply for these courses so that the economic standard of these families can be raised. Skill development is a platform that will play a pivotal role in improving the standard of living of the people, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
- The Chief Minister said that industrialists would also be urged to adopt such poor families. Not only a scheme will be formulated for such families to provide self-employment through interest-free loans, but also the cooperation of more than 40,000 self-help groups already running in the state would be sought. Work of connecting these poor families with self-help groups will be done and loans will also be provided to the groups for employment. Work on the scheme should be done at a rapid pace, directed the Chief Minister.
- Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Employment Department, Sh. T.C. Gupta, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director General, Information Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal and other senior officials were present on this occasion.
