Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Om Prakash Yadav, today visited the research centre of Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chandigarh at Panchkula,
- Chandigarh, March 18– Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Om Prakash Yadav, today visited the research centre of Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chandigarh at Panchkula,
- Sh. Yadav sought information about various schemes related to horticulture, agriculture, soil and water conservation and irrigation from the officers of the Institute.
- He was apprised that work is also being done on water storage, storage and ground water recharge, so that the ground water level rises by conserving water and potable water can also be given to nearby colonies.
- He informed that along with research and training programmes being run by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India are also organized in this Centre.
- The Minister of State assured the officers of the Institute that the Haryana government would extend its full cooperation for water conservation work. He said that water is of great importance in present times and everyone should use water as per need and grow crops which require less water consumption.
