Polling concludes peacefully for Urban Local Bodies elections in the State
A spokesperson of State Election Commission Himachal Pradesh said here today that polling for all Urban Local Bodies election in the state concluded peacefully. Elections were scheduled for 263 members of 29 Municipal Councils and 153 members of 21 Nagar Panchayats. 13 members were elected unopposed. Nomination papers were not filed in ward number 9 of Municipal Council Ner Chowk and ward number 7 of Nagar Panchayat Karsog of District Mandi.He said that polling was held for the election of 401 members.
He said that more than 3.10 lakh voters were registered, out of which around 73 percent voters cast their votes. More than 70 Covid-19 patients and persons in isolation cast their votes as per standard operating procedure.
He said that it was for the first time that all the election related procedures and results have also been uploaded by the Commission on sechimachal.nic.in web portal.
Commission thanked the voters and officials for conducting smooth and peaceful elections.
