SUPVA Students Shine in ‘Sapne Versus Everyone Season 2’ on Amazon Prime

Students and alumni of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts are earning recognition for their acting talent after appearing in Season 2 of the popular web series Sapne Versus Everyone, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 1.

Four artists associated with SUPVA have played significant roles in the latest season of the series. Among them, Divyansh Deshwal, Girish Katyal and Aman Ahlawat belong to Rohtak district, while Jatin Sareen is from Delhi. Their performances in the series are receiving appreciation from audiences and industry professionals alike.

The web series has been directed and written by Ambareesh Verma, who also plays the lead role. For Season 2, he selected Divyansh Deshwal, Girish Katyal and Jatin Sareen from SUPVA’s 2015 acting batch, along with Aman Ahlawat from the 2021 batch.

In the series, Divyansh appears in a sporting role, while Girish has contributed both as an actor and assistant director. Jatin Sareen portrays the role of Sonu, the heroine’s fiancé, whereas Aman Ahlawat plays the son of the main lead character.

Ashish Nehra Became the Link Between SUPVA and the Series

The journey of SUPVA students into the series began during Season 1, when Ashish Nehra, a former student of SUPVA’s 2011 direction batch and currently an assistant professor at the university, portrayed the character of Ratan. Originally from Rohtak, Ashish impressed Ambareesh Verma with his performance.

It was Ashish who introduced Verma to the talent emerging from SUPVA. Following his recommendation, four students from the university were given opportunities to work in different roles in Season 2.

SUPVA Talent Making Its Mark in the Entertainment Industry

Divyansh Deshwal

Divyansh Deshwal has worked in advertisement films, music videos and short films before gaining recognition in the OTT industry. He played the lead role in the Stage App film Khachchar and also earned praise for his performance in the film License. He later appeared in another lead role in Stage App’s Veer Kisan. Following his growing popularity, he has received offers for several upcoming web series and films.

Girish Katyal

Girish Katyal has built a strong profile in both acting and direction. Alongside working in Haryanvi projects, he has contributed to OTT productions as an associate and creative director. He served as associate director for the film License and creative director for projects like Bewafaiyan and Udaan Ki Asha. He has also assisted in projects such as Headshot, Sena, Kagaz Season 2, College Kaand and Velapanti. Apart from direction, Girish has appeared in ad films alongside Anil Kapoor and acted in multiple OTT productions.

Jatin Sareen

Jatin Sareen has successfully transitioned from theatre to films and OTT platforms. He appeared in Faraaz directed by Hansal Mehta, along with projects such as Delhi Crime Season 3, Garmi by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Jo Tera Hai Wo Mera Hai directed by Raj Trivedi. His performances continue to earn appreciation, leading to more acting opportunities.

Aman Ahlawat

Aman Ahlawat has also been actively working on OTT projects. One of his most appreciated performances came in a Gujarati short film, where he portrayed a differently-abled child in a challenging emotional role. His acting drew significant attention and helped him gain recognition in the industry. He is currently working on several upcoming projects while continuing to establish himself in the entertainment world.

The success of these young artists has brought pride to SUPVA and highlighted the growing contribution of Haryana’s talent to India’s digital entertainment industry.
