Deadline of custom-milled rice expires in Haryana, over 6 LMT yet to be delivered

The state of Haryana has not received over 6 lakh tonnes of custom-milled rice. This is because the deadline to supply this rice has ended. The Food Corporation of India is still waiting for this rice.

The state government is looking into this matter. They want to figure out what to do. They will decide if they should give time to deliver the rice.

A lot of rice mills in Haryana got paddy to mill during the 2025-26 season. They had to give milled rice to the Food Corporation of India on time. Most of the rice has been delivered.. About 6.94 lakh metric tonnes of rice are still pending.

Officials from the Food department went to rice mills to see what was going on. They checked how paddy and rice the mills had. They also asked why the rice had not been delivered.

Some districts like Karnal, Fatehabad, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Sirsa have a lot of pending rice. The government is looking at reports from these districts. They will decide what to do

Rice millers say they are late because the Food Corporation of India does not have space to store the rice. They say they have milled the rice but cannot give it to the Food Corporation of India because they do not have space. They also say they had problems because of the rice programme and not having enough workers during the wheat season.

The government of Haryana will soon decide what to do. They want to make sure everything goes smoothly. They do not want the government or the rice millers to lose money. The Haryana government wants to help the rice millers deliver the milled rice to the Food Corporation of India. The milled rice is still pending and the Haryana government has to make a decision, about it.
