Senior IPS officer Mukesh Singh on Monday formally assumed charge as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Manipur at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Mantripukhri.
The newly appointed police chief was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by personnel of the Manipur Police. The occasion was attended by senior officers of the state police force.
Following the reception, Singh held an introductory meeting with senior police officials, where he outlined key priorities for policing in the state. He emphasized professionalism, adherence to the Constitution of India and the Rule of Law, and the importance of close coordination with sister security and law-enforcement agencies.
A 1996-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Mukesh Singh brings nearly three decades of policing and counter-terrorism experience to the post. Prior to his appointment in Manipur, he served as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh.
