Government School Students to Receive NCERT Books in New Academic Session
Students in government schools will receive NCERT books in the new academic session to support standardized and quality education learning.

In a move aimed at strengthening foundational learning in public education, the government has announced that students in government schools will be provided with NCERT textbooks for the upcoming academic session. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of students by ensuring uniform access to standardised learning material across classes.

Education department officials confirmed that the distribution process will begin shortly after the commencement of the new academic year. The decision is part of ongoing efforts to improve academic quality in government-run schools and align classroom teaching with nationally recognised curriculum standards.

According to officials, NCERT books are designed to promote conceptual understanding rather than rote learning, which is expected to help students build stronger academic foundations. The move also aims to reduce disparities in learning resources between government and private school students.

School authorities have been instructed to ensure timely distribution so that students receive textbooks without delay. In many districts, procurement and logistics planning have already been completed, with schools preparing to hand over books during the first weeks of the session.

Teachers have welcomed the initiative, stating that uniform textbooks will make classroom instruction more structured and easier to coordinate across schools. Parents have also expressed relief, noting that the provision of free textbooks will reduce financial pressure at the beginning of the academic year.

Officials further indicated that monitoring mechanisms will be put in place to ensure smooth implementation and prevent shortages. The initiative is expected to enhance learning outcomes while reinforcing the government’s focus on improving the quality of education in public schools.
