The issue of women allegedly abandoned by Non-Resident Indian (NRI) husbands has once again come into focus after the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) stated that around 32,000 women in Punjab have been affected by such cases. The remarks have highlighted concerns about the legal and social challenges faced by women involved in cross-border marriages.
