Iran has linked the proposed US peace deal to Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Israel must leave Lebanese territory before the agreement can move ahead.
Araghchi called Israel’s presence in Lebanon a threat to regional peace. He said any long-term solution needs an end to military actions and greater stability in the region.
The statement came as the US and Iran moved closer to a possible peace framework. The talks aim to reduce tensions and improve relations between the two countries.
Lebanon has become a key issue in the negotiations. Israel says its military actions focus on protecting its borders and preventing attacks from armed groups. Israeli officials have rejected calls for a full withdrawal.
Iran, however, continues to push for Israel’s exit from Lebanon. Tehran believes this step is necessary for any lasting peace agreement.
The demand has increased pressure on ongoing diplomatic efforts. Countries around the world are watching the talks closely as leaders try to find a solution to the wider Middle East conflict.
The success of the agreement may depend on whether the involved sides can resolve their differences over security, military presence, and regional stability.
