The Central Government has informed Parliament that the first phase of the Census exercise in Haryana has been completed. The update was shared during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament in response to a question regarding the progress of the nationwide Census.
According to the government, the initial phase involved preparatory activities, including the updating of administrative records and groundwork required for the Census process. The Centre stated that these steps are essential for ensuring accurate population data when the full enumeration begins.
The government also informed Parliament about the progress of key infrastructure projects in Haryana. It highlighted ongoing work on major national highways and high-speed corridor projects aimed at improving connectivity and supporting economic growth across the state.
Officials said these road infrastructure projects are expected to enhance transportation, reduce travel time, and strengthen logistics in several districts of Haryana. The Centre added that the projects are being implemented in phases, with construction progressing as per schedule.
Meanwhile, the government reiterated that the Census is one of the country’s largest administrative exercises and plays a crucial role in planning welfare schemes, resource allocation, and policy decisions. Accurate Census data helps governments assess population trends and prepare future development plans.
The Centre did not announce a specific timeline for the next phase of the Census. However, it assured Parliament that the remaining stages would be carried out in accordance with the approved schedule and administrative guidelines.
