Chandigarh Police PCR vehicles parked at a city junction for faster emergency response services

The Chandigarh Police are planning to establish dedicated PCR (Police Control Room) parking bases at major junctions across the city to improve emergency response and provide quicker assistance to residents. The initiative aims to reduce the time taken by police teams to reach accident sites, crime locations, and other urgent situations.

Under the proposed plan, PCR vehicles will be stationed at important locations with heavy traffic movement and higher public activity. These dedicated bases will help police teams respond faster instead of travelling long distances from police stations during emergencies.

Officials said the move is part of efforts to strengthen public safety and improve the city’s policing system. Locations for the PCR bases are being identified after reviewing traffic patterns, security needs, and areas that require faster police presence.

The new system is expected to support quick action during road accidents, law-and-order situations, and emergency complaints. It will also help improve coordination between PCR teams and control room officials.

With Chandigarh expanding and traffic increasing, authorities believe that a faster emergency response system is essential for public safety. The dedicated PCR parking bases will help create a more efficient policing network and ensure residents receive timely support when needed.

The project is currently under planning, and further details about locations and implementation are expected soon.
