A major enforcement operation was carried out in Haryana after authorities raided a gas agency and uncovered a large stock of LPG cylinders stored in an unauthorized warehouse. During the raid, officials seized a total of 881 gas cylinders, raising concerns over illegal storage practices and potential safety risks.
According to sources, the action was initiated following information received by the concerned department regarding the unlawful storage of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. A joint inspection team conducted a surprise raid at the warehouse and found hundreds of cylinders being stored without the required permissions and safety arrangements mandated under petroleum and gas regulations.
Officials stated that such illegal storage facilities pose a serious threat to public safety, as improper handling and storage of LPG cylinders can lead to fire hazards and explosions. During the inspection, authorities reportedly found violations related to licensing norms, storage limits, and safety protocols. As a result, the entire stock of 881 cylinders was seized and taken into official custody.
The concerned department has launched a detailed investigation to determine the source of the cylinders, the purpose of the unauthorized storage, and whether any black marketing or illegal distribution network was involved. Records of the gas agency are also being scrutinized to identify possible irregularities in inventory management and supply operations.
Authorities have warned LPG distributors and dealers across the state to strictly follow safety regulations and licensing conditions. They emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating gas storage and distribution rules.
The raid is being viewed as a significant step towards ensuring public safety, preventing illegal LPG trade, and maintaining transparency in the distribution of essential cooking fuel across Haryana. Investigations are continuing, and further action may follow based on the findings.
