Gurugram rain floods Old City, causes long electricity outages
Heavy monsoon showers hit Gurugrams Old City on Sunday. This caused problems. Roads were. Many areas had no electricity for a long time. Some places like Sector 10 and Sectors 4 and 7 and 7 Extension and 9 and 9A and Khandsa Road and Pataudi Road were really bad. Water was up to a foot in some places. People had to walk through flooded streets because their cars were stuck.
The rain also caused a lot of power cuts. Many homes had no electricity for seven to eight hours. People who live in Khazur Colony in Farrukhnagar had it the worst. They had no electricity for 20 hours.
The people in charge of Gurugram sent teams to help. They used machines to remove water from the streets and fix the roads. There was not a lot of traffic because it was Sunday.. The flooding was still a big problem. It showed that Gurugram still has a lot of work to do to fix its drainage problems. People who live in Gurugram want the city to do a job of handling monsoon showers. They want roads and a way to deal with all the water. Monsoon showers are a problem, in Gurugram. The city needs to work on its stormwater management and civic infrastructure to help people during monsoon showers.
