Ajnala, Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) has achieved a major success after recovering a large cache of weapons from the Ajnala area near the India-Pakistan international border. The operation was carried out by the 117 Battalion of BSF, following which several arms and ammunition were seized.
According to sources, BSF recovered an AK-47 rifle along with a magazine, 25 pistols, 47 magazines, a bulletproof jacket, and around 368 live cartridges. The recovery has raised security concerns in the border region.
The security forces launched the operation after receiving information about suspicious activities in the area. During the search operation, the weapons were found and taken into custody for further investigation.
BSF officials are examining the origin of the recovered weapons and investigating whether any cross-border network is linked to the case. A young man has also reportedly been taken into custody by BSF in connection with the investigation.
The authorities are collecting more information and conducting further checks in the area to ensure security along the sensitive border zone.
The recovery comes as security agencies continue to strengthen surveillance near the India-Pakistan border to prevent illegal activities and arms smuggling. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
