Major General Bharat Mehtani is currently serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh (PHHP&C). He assumed this prestigious command on November 1, 2025, taking over the traditional baton from the outgoing officer, Major General Jagdeep Singh Cheema. After a fruitful and impactful tenure of 7 months, the General Officer is proceeding to assume command as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, Headquarter in Bangalore.
Major General Bharat Mehtani, had brought extensive experience to his new role. He commanded an Infantry Brigade in Western Sector, Jharkhand & Bihar Sub Area and an Infantry Division in Western Sector, before taking over as Additional Director General NCC. For his distinguished service, he has been awarded GOC-in-Chief, Western Command Commendation Card.
To honour his impactful tenure, leadership, and contributions to youth development, the NCC Directorate organized a ceremonial farewell party for the General Officer. During the farewell, the Directorate highlighted his modernization initiatives, including introducing drone training, expanding cyber security awareness, and boosting career recognition for NCC ‘C’ certificate holders. The Directorate wished the General best of health and a successful, fruitful command in his new tenure.
