Kumari Selja questions transparency in Haryana Assistant Professor recruitment.
Kumari Selja Questions Haryana Assistant Professor Recruitment Process
Chandigarh, May 13. Sirsa MP, former Union Minister, CWC member and AICC General Secretary Kumari Selja has questioned the BJP government over the Assistant Professor recruitment process in Haryana.
She alleged that the government has failed to ensure transparency in recruitments. According to her, repeated paper leaks, delays and confusion in the selection process have created frustration among youth preparing for government jobs.
Questions Over Selection Process
Kumari Selja said several irregularities have surfaced in recent recruitments. She claimed that in the Assistant Professor (Hindi) recruitment, seven out of 67 unreserved posts remained vacant. She also stated that 41 out of 60 selected candidates belonged to other states.
Referring to the Assistant Professor (Psychology) recruitment, Selja said nearly 400 candidates appeared for 85 posts, but only three candidates qualified. She said these figures raise serious concerns over the recruitment process and the government’s intent.
Selja clarified that the Congress party does not oppose candidates from other states. However, she said ignoring talented youth from Haryana is unfair and concerning. She demanded transparency in the recruitment process and asked the government to disclose the selection criteria.
She also sought clarification on why several posts remained vacant despite large numbers of applicants. According to Selja, the government must protect the trust and future of young aspirants instead of merely issuing recruitment advertisements.
Concerns Over Recruitment Agencies
Kumari Selja said Haryana’s youth already face unemployment and uncertainty. She added that repeated paper leak cases and opaque recruitment systems have weakened public confidence.
Referring to controversies linked to the Haryana Public Service Commission and the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, Selja alleged that irregularities and court interventions have repeatedly raised questions over recruitment processes in the state.
She also mentioned the recent decision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to cancel the Assistant Professor (English) recruitment process under Advertisement No. 48/2024. She said only 151 candidates qualified for 613 posts, which triggered questions over the 35 percent eligibility criteria.
Demand for Transparent Review
Selja further referred to alleged irregularities in the Assistant Professor (Political Science) recruitment. She cited reports of broken seals on question papers and the absence of jammers at examination centres.
She also mentioned controversies related to the promotion of 27 HCS officers to IAS rank and the alleged ₹1,500-crore labour work slip scam involving fake labourers.
Kumari Selja demanded a fair and transparent review of the entire recruitment process. She also called for public disclosure of selection norms and safeguards to ensure justice for deserving candidates.
She asserted that the Congress party will continue to raise issues related to youth rights, employment and dignity.
