Chandigarh: The Congress high command has appointed Sanjay Dutt as the new Haryana in-charge, placing him in a key organisational role at a time when the party is trying to strengthen its presence in the state. Political observers believe his first and biggest task will be to bring unity among different factions within the Haryana Congress and prepare the organisation for upcoming electoral contests.
The leadership change is being viewed as an effort to inject fresh energy into the state unit. Along with improving coordination between senior leaders, Dutt is expected to work closely with district-level workers to strengthen the party’s grassroots network and streamline organisational activities.
For several years, the Haryana Congress has witnessed differences among its senior leaders, which have often affected the party’s overall functioning. With responsibility now resting on Sanjay Dutt, the focus will be on resolving internal disagreements and ensuring that leaders work together with a common political strategy.
Apart from maintaining unity, Dutt is also expected to oversee preparations for future elections, boost communication with party workers and expand the Congress’ outreach across Haryana. Strengthening the organisation at the booth and district levels is likely to be one of his key priorities in the coming months.
Political analysts believe that while the appointment has been welcomed by many within the party, the real challenge will be converting organisational changes into electoral strength. His ability to manage competing interests, motivate workers and build consensus among senior leaders will determine the success of his tenure.
As Haryana’s political environment continues to evolve, the Congress leadership hopes the new in-charge will help present a united front and improve the party’s preparedness for future political battles.
