Kurukshetra | July 8, 2026
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Kurukshetra elevated railway track on July 17. The project marks a major milestone in Haryana’s infrastructure development. It aims to improve railway connectivity and reduce traffic congestion across the city.
The elevated rail corridor will replace the existing ground-level railway line. As a result, vehicles will no longer have to wait for railway gates to open. This change is expected to make travel smoother and save valuable time for daily commuters.
Meanwhile, railway officials are completing the final phase of the project. They are carrying out trial runs, safety inspections and finishing work at the station. The administration wants to ensure that everything is ready before the inauguration.
In addition, the project will improve connectivity between different parts of Kurukshetra. Better traffic flow will benefit students, office-goers, emergency services and local businesses. The upgraded railway infrastructure is also expected to support the city’s future growth.
Residents have welcomed the project. Many believe it will solve the long-standing problem of traffic congestion caused by closed railway crossings. Moreover, the elevated track is expected to reduce delays during peak hours and make daily travel more convenient.
The virtual inauguration will be part of the Prime Minister’s programme to launch several development projects in Haryana. Overall, officials expect the elevated rail track to improve urban mobility and strengthen Kurukshetra’s transport network for years to come.
