Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday honoured 198 athletes and coaches by distributing cash awards worth ₹20.59 crore. The ceremony took place in Panchkula. The awards recognised outstanding performances in national and international competitions.
Government honours sporting excellence
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister congratulated the athletes for bringing glory to Haryana and India. He said the state government will continue to encourage talented sportspersons through financial rewards, better training facilities and employment opportunities.
He also praised the dedication of coaches. According to him, coaches play a vital role in preparing athletes for major tournaments.
Athletes from different sports receive awards
The beneficiaries included medal winners from international events, national championships and para-sports competitions. Coaches who guided these athletes also received recognition for their contribution.
