A woman’s body was found near Basai Chowk in Gurugram, following which police have launched an investigation on suspicion of murder. The unidentified woman, believed to be around 30–35 years old, was found on Sunday morning, prompting officials from Sector 10A police station to reach the spot and secure the area.
A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence as part of the preliminary investigation. Police said no identity documents or personal belongings were recovered from the spot, making identification difficult. Authorities are checking missing person records and coordinating with nearby police stations to establish the woman’s identity.
Although no visible external injury marks were found during the initial examination, investigators suspect foul play due to the circumstances in which the body was discovered. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination.
Police are also examining CCTV footage from areas around Basai Chowk and questioning local residents, shopkeepers and security personnel to trace the woman’s last known movements. Investigators are probing whether the woman was killed at the location or if her body was brought and dumped there after the crime.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will depend on forensic findings and the progress of the investigation.
